    Default Tying Comparadun Style Flies

We have long "painted" the front half of the hook when tying comparaduns, in part, to help keep the hair from spinning on a bare hook.

Lately, I have been putting just a tiny bit of dubbing at the tie-in point for the hair. I believe this helps prevent the tendency to spin. I have, since about 1990, used a bit as a pillow before wrapping hackle on hackled flies, but had not previously used it on a comparadun tie-in.

    Am sure others do this?
