A Hangin Stimi with a Hedgehog wing; found this one over on the Owl Creek site. Tied here as a golden stone; change colors/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #8
thread - Danville Monocord yellow
egg sac - foam dark brown
abdomen - dubbing dirty yellow
underwing - 2mm foam goldenrod
thorax - dubbing dirty yellow
wing - deer hair dyed golden yellow
legs - medium rubber dark cream
hackle - grizzly dyed golden yellow (Koolaid pineapple)


Part 1


mash barb, start thread above point, wrap halfway down bend




tie in a strip (1/2 gap width) of foam; fold over to create sac and cover with thread






dub abdomen




taper foam strip (gap width), measure (hook length) and tie in at base of abdomen










add a bit of dubbing

Part 2


clean, measure (tips to end of foam) a small clump of deer hair; tie in/trim, dub butts








repeat








and again (you want to finish about the 2/3 mark)






tie in legs, wrap to the eye and back




tie in hackle at base of wing

dub rest of thorax




wrap hackle (take a couple turns behind the legs), tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN




trim out hackle underneath, trim legs
