Duckworth's Extended Body Mayfly (Carnage variation) SBS

Inspired by Joe's post, I adopted Duckworth's Cat Puke-like fly to foam, fore and aft.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #10
thread - UTC 140 tan
core - 20lb mono
tail/underbody - moose body hair
abdomen - 1mm foam tan
wing - Congo Hair dun
hackle - barred cream
thorax -dubbing tan


Part 1

put a loop in either end of a piece of mono; tie it in at mid-point






measure (2x hook, plus gap width) some moose body; tie in/trim butts






hook mono onto the gallows; wrap hair up the core and back down




apply Super Glue at base of tail




pull strip of foam against body at base of tail




under tension, wrap tag end down the underbody; tie off but don't trim tag end




brush on Super Glue and wrap other end of foam, adjusting spacing/tension to create a tapered body
