Ever since Uncle Jesse posted the link to the video on tying Mop flies, I've been facinated with them. I located the mop-head material in a number of "fishy-looking" colors and started tying. I like patterns that are simple to tie and produce fish. I guess you could say that I am a utilitarian tyer in that respect. Anyway, this pattern is super easy to tie and offers lots of opportunity to get a bit creative. Here are some of the Mop flies I've tied up for this year.

I used dubbing brushes for some of them to achieve a bushier effect. The black ones should be especially effective in the waters I fish followed by the beigh and the light olive. hope to get out this week and I'll let you know how they work out.
