Default Like Learning to Tie All Over Again

I have long been an admirer of Marc Petijean's tools and his tying methods. However, I had never really tried to use his methods, in part, because I have always used more traditional materials. Petigean is sort of the CDC fly tier. So, he has designed and manufactured tools specifically for tying flies using CDC feathers.

I have long had his "magic tools": the plastic clips and his feather-folding plastic tools. Only recently did I purchase his pliers, thread splitting needle and other tools.

Anyway, I decided I would tie his CDC Mayfly using his methods and tools. It was a bit like learning to tie all over again. I've used CDC before, but not with his tools and his pattern.

Anyway, I think others would enjoy using his methods.

Not the best result, but my early attempt at his mayfly pattern. A link to his video of how to do it much better is pasted above little photo.
