Brad I do it because the manufacture doesn't have these colors in the specific thread I prefer to use. It has been the best thread I've used to fuel with, so wanted to get dye for it. I prefer Guttermann Skala and they only have 36 colors non of which are what I call super bright. Neon colors look much brighter and easier to see on the super small and light lines.
