Developed by Californian Cliff Wyatt, sometime in the mid-1900's, as a stonefly imitation (guessing salmonfly here).

thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - guinea
rib - oval tinsel gold
body - chenille orange
wing - fox squirrel tail
hackle - guinea

mash barb, start thread, wrap to point above barb
measure (gap width past bend) some guinea fibers; tie in
tie in rib
and chenille
wrap chenille; tie off 1 eye width behind eye
counterwrap rib; tie off/trim
