Animas update
As anyone with a TV probably saw, they had a little accident in the headwaters of the Animas River in Colorado last week. EPA says things are back to normal now, and Hick took a drink of the water (not something I would do if my life depended on it) to show how good it was.

What a mess. Hopefully the media will keep the facts straight as well. This was a result of the EPA "experts" & not the mining company.
You might say the mining company had nothing to do with it because they abandoned the mine many years ago. But, they left a terrible mess behind that has just kept getting worse over the years. The EPA was trying to address the impending disaster, made a mistake, and caused this spill. This is just one of thousands of mines in Colorado in similar condition. I am not often a big fan of government agencies like the EPA, but somebody needs to address this issue and they were trying.

What a contrast to how the coverage would have been 8 years ago!!
To the simpleton, proof does not matter once emotion takes hold of an issue.
Somehow, I don't think we're going to hear the President tell Gina McCarthy she's "doing a heck of a job". EPA slow-rolled the news on the spill but it looks like they're taking full responsibility; not like they have much choice since they were driving the bulldozers and backhoes (even though they are cleaning up after folks who farted and left the room).
