Thread: I won't stand for this

Default I won't stand for this

    Alright, who talked?

The people referenced in this article clearly don't have the experience to identify our strains of brown creek chub or rainbow spotted dace that inhabit our local waters. I'd like for you all to pay to mind to this article.

That being said, the single guide service in the Hills is manned by some great folks. Although Deadwood being the best kept secret? Some of this article comes across as more advertisement than truth.

Have you written a letter to the editor of the magazine and asked about their credentials?

BigDan, are you familiar with the online phenomenon known as the "Streisand Effect"?

I don't know nothing about your big fancy words but I can most definitely assure you the Black Hills of South Dakota are not one of the most beautiful places you could ever catch an abundance of trout.

I mean can't you tell these aren't trout? and that this scenery is awful?

I don't know why these rumors of trout in the Black Hills persist. Any fool should be able to see that there are nothing but chubs and dace in those waters!

Part of the problem, in my opinion, is that articles need to show lots of fish and tell the places where they were caught.
When I look at magazines that is all I see. Articles tell where to go.
My guess if an article was written without pictures and telling where to fish it would not be published.
Will go back under my rock now.

Unbelievable! Incredible!! How anyone could believe the stories about wild trouts up there is way beyond me. Chubs and Dace ... that's it. Really very sad.
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

That article doesn't depict the real South Dakota which is flat-as-pancake plains and nothing but fields of corn and soybeans.
