    Default Bracket on Grumman

I recently acquired a 17' STD Grumman canoe. There are two brackets on the deck (floor) one far aft and the other just forward of the rear seat. Does anyone know what they are or used for?

i am not sure but we had a grumman canoe years ago which had a slatted wooden floor that fastened to the bottom of the canoe. It was nice for keeping camping ,hunting gear out of any water that got into the canoe, but miserable to to fish with the floor in because it was one more thing to catch on

Further research confirms that the bracket is there for the mast mount on a sailing unit.
And they are fore and aft of the front seat.
    Thanks all.

I've owned a 17' Grumman for over 30 years with those same brackets. Never new what they were for! Thanks for clearing up the mystery!!
