Variation of the standard pattern, apparently used as a green drake imitation back in the day. Recipes I found called for moose body for the wing so for the first, and last time, that's what was used (ugh!); I'll go with dark/black deer hair next time.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Danville Flymaster 210 brown/MFC 8/0 brown
tail - moose body
abdomen - dubbing olive
wing - moose body upright/divided
hackle - brown/grizzly

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark

clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of moose

tie it down with a few very firm wraps, keeping the hair on top of the hook; pull some of the butts up and take a wrap thru, pulling towards the eye; repeat a few more times, locking the wing down - when I did it through the tips (like I usually do for deer), because the moose hair's so dense, they were uneven every time when I set them up; trim butts, brush with Sally and cover with thread

clean, stack, measure (shank) another clump of moose; tie in, wrap to wing butt junction, trim butts and smooth with thread
