You might try asking at http://classicflyrodforum.com
did a serch there, not much info, made a post and sent a few pm's.
I have an 8 ft for 4 wt Golden Shadow , 2 pic.. I was told it was made by the company that later became Diamondback. I was told they also made rods for Leonard as their venture into graphite. I do not think mine is / was made for the Leonard company . The label simply says Golden Shadow, Stowe, Vermont . On the rod it is simply written in script, Golden Shadow. It may have been represented as a Leonard when I bought it or simply that it was the same company that made them for Leonard. I do not know the chronology whether the rod I have pre- dates the ones they made for Leonard or if they came after. I think my rod is atleast 20 years old. It is in wonderful condition and is a very sweet dry fly rod.
Best,
Steve
