    Default disappointed!

Just received my danvise from Cabelas. Without a pedestal. Is this an option? I am not a fan of clamp ons in any way, shape or form. If there isn't an option, I guess I'll return it and look at something else. I was really disappointed. JGW

I woouldn't return it if I were you. Sometimes when you are cranking out some big flies a Ped will move too much. I believe your vise has what is called a standard stem and just about any Ped will fit. It is nice to have both. Nice Vise and should be kept.Jan

I really pull hard on my Danvise and it holds the hooks true. I also have a pedastal but I have not tried it yet. I think I will today.
Great value is the Danvise, imho. Buy the pedastal and enjoy.

The stem of the Dan vice is not the same as standard 3/8. It is larger ,Ihave drilled some out at .3970 and you can contact Al Beatty at albeatty2aol.com to answer any questions

One thing to consider when shopping for a pedestal, is it's weight. I have seen some that are just too light. I have a 5 lb. on my Peak vice and it is rock steady.

    Hi JGW,

You have a couple of options RE: pedestals for the Danvise. I sell an import pedestal that fits the 10mm stem OR I also sell the oak base/tool holder that was illustrated in Cabela's. OR you can take any American pedestal and drill it out to 19/32" to make it fit the 10mm stem. Take care & ...

    Hey JGW,

I love my Danvise. First thing I did
with it was dissassemble it and remove the
clamping device. Then I drilled a hole in
my tying bench and reassembled it in place.
Works great for me but not an option if you
want to travel with it. Warm regards, Jim
