Wanted to get a more prominent speckled wing, so I used guinea instead of partridge. Also simplified (for me) the wing/wingcase sequence; don't have to do a lot of cyphering to get the length right. As always, change colors/size to meet your needs.

thread - MFC 8/0 sand
tail - grizzly hackle fibers
abdomen - goose biot
underwing/wingpad - CDC dark dun
thorax - hare's ear dubbing
overwing - guinea

mash barb, start thread; create a small bump above barb




even tips on some grizzly fibers, measure (shank length)); tie in/trim butts






tie in (moistened) biot, notch side down for ribbed effect; wrap forward, tie off/trim






even tips on a pair of CDC feathers, measure (hook length); tie in, leaving butts long
