    i have some Mustad Sproat hooks in size 14 that have slightly open eyes....they are fine wire, dryfly style hooks, and just about all I tie on them is cracklebacks...they work just fine, you just have to be careful around that eye....considering they cost me $10.00 for a thousand, I'm quite happy with the quality.

    Hi iceman!
    If your using a bobbin rest, throw a half hitch or a two turn whip on the hook shank before you place the bobbin on the rest.
