Taking a 180 turn from the Sub-merger; change colors/size to suit your needs.


hook - Dai Riki 320 #14
thread - UTC 140 tan/MFC 8/0 sand
rib - x-small wire gold
body - dubbing tan
overbody/head - 2mm foam tan
hackle - barred cream (undersize by 1)
wing - mule deer
indicator - McFlyfoam cerise


Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to bend




taper end of foam strip (gap width); tie in, brush on a little Super Glue; tie down tag end of foam








tie in rib




dub thread/dub body to 2/3 mark




pull foam forward; tie down (continue wraps to eye)




tie in hackle; spiral wrap to bend

Part 2

trap hackle tip with wire, then wrap forward through hackle, helicopter end; tie off, trim hackle tip






trim hackle on top




clean, stack, measure (tips past bend) a clump of deer hair; trim to length/tie in






tie in indicator




add a little dubbing to the head; half hitch x 2, SHHAN




trim indicator/head (you could trim out the hackle underneath for flatwater situations, but this is probably one you'd want to save for rougher water).
