Found this one over on the Flymphforum; a flashy alternative to dubbed body versions. Gonna miss the season opener in Yellowstone (look for the bug on the Firehole and Madison/Gibbon to a lesser extent), but should be around when the bugs re-appear in the fall.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #16
thread - MFC 8/0 light olive
body - opalescent tinsel medium
thorax - dubbing olive
underwing - Congo Hair white
hackle - partridge

mash barb, start thread; tie in a small hank of CH, fibers facing forward

tie in tinsel, wrap to bend and back; tie off/trim

dub thread/dub thorax

pull CH back, tie against front of thorax, trim (even with bend)

prep partridge; tie in by tip

wrap hackle, stroking fibers back; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Regards,
Scott
