Default TFO Lefty Finesse glass rod

Anybody tried one of these yet? Made from S-Glass, not graphite, 3 piece.

    NJT,

It is easy, you simply needed to test this particular fly rod to see if it is a decent outfit. Then keep it.

I cast one at the Warren, MI show last month. I liked it. A lot. Cast the Orvis glass rod also. In my opinion, the TFO was a much better casting rod. Really a smooth caster and a lot of feel. Could really feel the rod load in the back cast and could lay out 50 feet of line with no problem. Did I buy one? No. I currently have several glass blanks to build out, so a TFO is not currently in my future....for now.

Brad, have you cast the Cabelas CGR? I own the 7' 4/5 and have cast the Orvis line. I actually prefer the CGR. What are your thoughts?

No Ralph, I don't own one or have I cast one. I like the fit and finish of the Orvis, but seemed "stiff" compared to the TFO. I picked up a Diamond glass blank from Ron at Hook and Hackle while I was at the Warren show and it is next in line to be built.

got to cast the 3-4wt 7' today at the VA FF festival, brought my own reel loaded with GPX 3 wt. Dream to cast, the 3.5 wt seemed to fit it perfectly. Really nice rod, a step above the typical TFO appointments, really nice looking gold/wood reel seat, nice brown blank. I loved it.
