I think it may freak out some people who are thinking about trying flyfishing. But like others have pointed out, its the same in flyfishing as it is in every other activity. You can buy a really expensive sewing machine, motorcross bike, woodworking equipment, guitar, firearm, brewing kit... but if you are truly interested in something, more affordable options can be found.
