Thread: Question About Photobucket

    Default Question About Photobucket

I set up an account with Photobucket yesterday so I could use it to post some pictures on another web site. It seems like it takes forever to upload a picture from my computer and then to take forever to do a posting of the picture onto another website. Is this normal? I'm having to wait for a full minute or longer to go from one step to another.

Is this normal or am I missing something?

    Thanks

Its normal if you upload full resolution photos. I have a Photobucket file that I store photos I upload to the site after I have shrunk them. A full resolution photo takes a long time to upload while a reduced size only takes seconds. Give it a try.

Yep! Agree with Kelly totally. Shrink them first.

Thanks. That makes sense. So, how do I go about shrinking the size of a photo that is in my pictures folder?

    Dave,

Go to "Edit", then "Re-size" and adjust as needed. The pics I post on FAOL are 1024 x 768, but on the Flymphforum, they're constrained by 800 x 600 so anything I post there has to be modified.

Thanks folks. I also figured out how to do it using paint. If you Google "how to resize a photo" you can find a little two minute video showing how to use paint to resize a photo and save it.
