Default Spectrumized Western Green Drake Emerger

Tying some different flies for next late June on the Henry's Fork. Utilizing my recently acquired Delaware River Club spectrumized dubbing "a la" Caucci/Nastasi.

Great looking fly! I'm interested to hear how it preforms for you.

    Thanks,
Long time away yet, but will post results....favorable or unfavorable.

Byron I've used a couple color for nymphs and they have performed quite well. I'll have to tie a few for Montana myself this summer. Thanks for the reminder.

Just wondering - what, if anything, distinguishes this as an emerger as opposed to a nymph? Great looking fly either way.

Primarily the soft hackle collar and the way it is fished. Unlike a nymph, which is usually dead drifted on/near bottom, the soft hackle is usually fished un-weighted,
in a "rising" action, up through the water column.

Gene, where and when will you be fishing the area?

    Byron, that's a fine-looking fly.

Thanks, Ed. But, the basic pattern is that of Craig Matthews and John Juracek.

It might be their pattern, but I'll bet they didn't tie the fine-looking fly in your picture.

    Regards,
