Default 7'2"/7'4" James Green Native Trout Series Fiberglass Rod, 5 pc, 3wt

Custom built by me on James's NTS unsanded amber blank with spigot ferrules. This a slow action rod that reminds me of the action of the Fisher fiberglass blanks from the mid-80s. It is perfect for dry flies on small closed in streams -- brookie chasing. This is a specialty rod, not for everyone -- you really need to slow down your casting stroke. The rod has two butt sections that makes it a 7'2" or 7'4" rod. It is 2.25 oz. assembled as a 7'2" rod, and 2.45 oz. assembled as a 7'4" rod. (The difference is due to the reels eats.) The 7'2" butt section has a N/S S/B seat with custom turned mahogany spacer. The 7'4" butt section has Struble U-1 aluminum uplocking seat with custom red birch burl spacer. The action between the the two butt sections is very close -- I think the 7'4" has a little more push to it. It has a Mildrum-style carbide stripper, Snakebrand black nickel snakes and top. The 7'4" butt has a nickel silver winding check; the 7'2" butt is naked. The wraps are based on some pre-fire Leonards I have seen: avocado green silk wraps with cardinal tipping and antique gold accents. Comes with a custom green twill bag and olive powder-coated 2 1/2" aluminum tube. Lawn cast only. $295 shipped to CONUS
