Umpqua offers (or, at least used to offer) a spring scale for weighing fly lines that was far more convenient than the usual grain scales (usually gunpowder reloading scales). The scale is calibrated in both grains and in AFTMA line weights from 1 to 13 and a clip at the lower end easily holds a measured thirty feet of coiled fly line.
