I won a contest for the best fish story at my local fly shop. $200 gift card to the store. Santa wife got me Rivers of Sand, which is a great read on Michigan rivers and a DVD of "The River". I have yet to watch it but it gets great reviews. I just need to block out 3 hours.

I got the components to build a 4pc 4wt rod (I had to place the order for Santa just to be safe), a single person inflatable air mattress to fit my 2 person tent, and a folding turkey hunting chair. All these will be perfect for motorcycle camping/fishing trips this year. All but one of my rods are 2-piece and don't pack well for riding...a great excuse to build more.

Yep, so that's how you spell it. My grandmother raised them when I was a teenager and they laid blue, green, tan and brown eggs.

Chewydog, I'll try and take a couple of pictures when I tie them. Right now I'm experimenting with poppers and crease flies.

I received a Cabela's Tlr 4 in blue with matching Tlr 5 spare spool. They match a blue 9wt I picked up this Summer from River Traditions (FLYFISHDOG). Look out carp and musky, here I come!

Separate your observations from your preconceptions. See what is, not what you expect.

Got to hike the South Kaibab trail in Grand Canyon with the family. 25 degrees when we started and it never got much warmer, but there was no wind and the trail was ice free. First time the kids have been there; it was a very special day.
