Found this winging technique on the interweb. Took a few tries (and this one isn't perfect) to get the proper length, width, set, but it makes for a cool effect.

hook - Mustad 3399A #12
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tag - tinsel gold
rib - x-small wire gold
body - hare's ear dubbing
wing - Indian hen mottled
hackle - brown


Part 1

Mash barb, start thread about 1 eye width back from front and tie in hackle




wrap to bend and tie in tinsel; wrap tinsel down bend, back and tie off






tie in rib




pair up hen saddles, strip fibers off the bottom; separate where the back of the wing will be




tie in at mid-shank; trim butts and cover with thread wraps






dub thread, dub body; pull wing forward for the back half, backwards for the front
