Over 9 weeks ago I sent a rod in for a tip repair. At least they are responding to my follow up emails.

Sorry to hear that. I had them repair two Bamboo rods and the both took six months or there abouts. I was very satisfied with their service.
If ORVIS keeps up that kind of service , they'll be out of business in the next 100 years for sure.

PS: Do you honestly think ORVIS is in business to disappoint customers?? Other than wanting to post a blurb, do you REALLY think your comment was in ANY way productive or helpful ? Only ORVIS bashers will find fault in this GREAT company. AND, NO, I do not worship at their altar but I appreciate the business model.

At least it is winter and not that many people go out and fish.
(waiting to hear from all those who do fish during the winter)

Hmmm. Long time no hear. Good to see you posting again, John. Hope to continue to see your posts. Happy Holidays to you.

Mark, when I first sent the rod in, I was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks. It is what it is.
Orvis is a kind of lightning rod, I am a member of another forum and there was a thread on fluro tippet. I posted that I liked Orvis and I was surprised at the negative responses for the company in general. I can see how that kind of response can make the pro Orvis folks a little defensive.
Yes, I think it is helpful to know about warranty response time. I think Hap's response about Sage was helpful, it must be a busy time of year.

Great to hear you are out and about, John. I was out Thursday, 39 degrees with a sustained wind due to the Noreaster that went thru. It made me think about the post "freezing your materials"

John,
There is no way to explain how thankful I was to see a post from you! I hope you continue to post and do post your new patterns that I know you are trying out. I fish the PSC just about every trip and it has been a fantastic fly pattern for me and others that I have shared it with. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.
John! How good to hear from you! Nice to know everything's right with the world again.
