hook - Dai Riki 280 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - moose body
rear abdomen - Uni-stretch orange
front abdomen - peacock herl
wing - calftail white
thorax - peacock herl
legs/feelers - medium rubber orange
hackle - grizzly


Part 1


Mash down barb, start thread at 60% mark, wrap back to bend




clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of moose body, tie in, wrap to 60% mark, trim butts






tie in Uni-stretch, leave tag end long




wrap back to tail, take one wrap behind/under, return to tie-in; tie off/trim




pull tag end over top of abdomen; tie off/trim




tie in peacock, wrap back to point above point




twist peacock with thread to create chenille, wrap forward to 60%; tie off, trim

Part 2

clean, stack, measure (tips even with tail) a clump of calftail; tie in, trim butts




tie in rubber legs at front, wrap back to base of wing






tie in hackle




tie in peacock, wrap to front






wrap hackle through thorax (make it bushy); tie off/trim; half hitch x 2, SHHAN




trim legs/feelers
