    Default Spruce Moth

Insect found fairly regularly in the Yellowstone Region where there are Spruce trees near the stream.

Tied similar to those tied in Bob Jacklin's method.

Hook bend support.............small clipped end of elk hair.....same elk hair strands as underbody and wings.

Body.................................Elk hair underbody covered with light tan dubbing

Hackle...............................Medium Dun (trimmed flat on bottom)

Wings................................Bullet head style elk hair (same fibers as butt end and underbody)
