The Renegade actually started out as a wet fly. I use it (the regular one) as such regularly. Even with just two, I think you're right about the vibrations. It seems to work really well fished wet in low light.
It will even works stripped like a streamer. It's got to be one of the most versatile flies ever invented. (Not to mention that it's my go-to dry.)
