The best casting rod I've ever cast no matter what material it was made from is a Ron Kusse 7 1/2' for a 5 wt quad that belonged to a now deceased member here..... a $2,300.00 rod. As I false cast it I said to myself out loud "Oh My God"

The secret to casting any rod is to get in time with it, feel it out let it tell you when to pull, push or snap. Some of my favorite rods are in the less expensive category. I can throw a pretty tight loop and goodly distance with a cheap rod if I can feel it out for a while. Not all cheap rods tho, some are uncastable.
