I have tied a fair bit on Lazer Trokar hooks, and they are probably the best big game hooks I have used. Some of the Eagle claw laser point hooks aren't bad, but their fly specific hooks are pretty terrible. My issue is that in fly fishing you need a really sharp hook to set the hook because of the minimal pressure that a fly rod can exert while setting the hook (compared to a stiff bait caster....) Chemically sharpened, conical points are the way to go (Tiemco, Daiichi, Allen, Gamakatsu, Mustad Signature, etc etc.)Originally Posted by Ray Kunz
