In point of fact I did exceed my limit after looking and trying a few vises.
I lucked out and found a barely used rise from a friend of a friend.
In all I spent about $225 for tools.
I've never regretted spending on fishing gear though.
I have not read through all the posts to see if it has been mentioned, so forgive me. But I have the Griffin Odyssey Spider Cam Vise and love it. I've had the simple steel clamp vises before and they work, but when I bought my last vise I wanted to step up in quality and features without breaking the bank and the Griffin fit the bill nicely.http://www.griffinenterprisesinc.com/vises.html
