Thread: October comes a bit early

    Just for reference, here's a picture of the true October Caddis, Giant Orange Sedge; whatever you choose to call him (this is Dicosmoecus gilvipes, one of five western North American species). The first picture is of the pupa, two pictures of the adult. The October caddis pupa crawls/swims ashore and leaves his abandoned pupal shuck stuck to rocks and logs near the waterline.<br>&nbsp;&lt;br type="_moz"&gt;<br type="_moz">
