    Default Bighorn river

Anyone been fishing the bighorn lately? We're in Billings this AM and heading to the river.

    Thanks. Fish

    Fish,

So, you're going to post a trip report, right?

    Regards,

Fishing the bighorn was a little difficult this year. The water was about twice the flow, around 4000 fps. Water clarity was so/so. Did find a few browns though, but fishing was slow. Saw some fish landed from boats and the bank. We were wade fishing in the 3 mile area, beautiful area. With the water conditions the flies I tied were a little out of date. Ray Charles worked the first day, then the water was a little higher the second day, the ray charles and orange or pink scud worked and the third day, with yet more water, well nothing worked except a black zebra midge with silver wire ribbing, all about the size 18. But fun time had by all.
