    Default Tim's Alternator SBS

Cool fly from Tim King; pretty simple tie. Fish it as a caddis or mayfly emerger, or just to pound them up.

    hook - Dai Riki 280 #12
    thread - Danville 6/0 black
    abdomen - opalescent mylar medium
    wing - bleached elk
    thorax - peacock herl
    hackle - brown

    Part 1

Mash down barb; wrap thread back about gap width from the eye

tie in mylar, wrap halfway down the bend and back to where you started; tie off and trim

clean, stack, measure (tips to the hook bend) a clump of elk; tie in, trim butts

    tie in some peacock herl

    Part 2

twist around thread, take a couple wraps, then tie in hackle

finish wrapping peacock, tie off and trim

move thread back to mid-thorax; wrap hackle, tie off, trim, half hitch x 2 at eye, SHHAN

trim out hackle underneath - optional

    Regards,
    Scott

Nice, I can see that working. One thing though, don't accept a lift from Tim!

    Cheers,
    A.
