Kind of a cross between a side-wheel steamer and Princess Leia. The Iris Caddis wing pad is doubled and turned on it's side(s); color is probably not a match to the natural, but it's to provide visibility as much as anything. Tied here as a Drake Mackerel (hecuba); change colors to suit your needs.

Part 1

Mash down barb, start thread, tie in shuck and wrap back to bend; trim (gap width)








tie in another sparse hank of CH and wrap back to bend




dub thread, dub body (start with a wrap behind the ribbing) up to 75% mark






twist CH tightly and rib body; relax twist, tie off and trim




make a loop in a hank of cream CH; tie in on the side and trim
