    Default Parkany's Deer Hair Caddis SBS



    You're going to want to break out a fresh razor blade for this one. Pretty short materials list.

    hook - Dai Riki 320 #16
    thread - UTC 70 tan
    body - deer hair spun/clipped
    wing - deer hair
    legs - deer hair (wing butts)

    Part 1

    Mash down barb, start thread at bend




    clean a clump of deer hair, trim tips; 2 soft loops, a little pressure, spin, and pack it






    repeat 'till you've filled the hook; tie off and trim thead




    invert, lay razor blade on the hook eye and push straight back






    a few snips, a little bit more razor blade; re-start thread




    clean, stack, measure (tips to hook bend) a clump of deer hair; leave the butts a bit long

    Part 2

    tie in, let the butts flare; half hitch x 2, SHHAN




    trim butts on top and bottom, leave them flared on the sides
