    Hans,

Always interested in your patterns and tying methods. That's why I'm asking this question. Is there a reason that the hackle on this pattern is short (relative to the point) compared to the length of the hackle on the 'Robin' pattern? By the way, your patterns may ultimately get me to actually fish with soft hackles in addition to tying them for fun, lol.

    Keep on posting!

    Regards

    Allan

    Hi Allan,

In wingless wets the hackle barb length will generally be longer, while on winged wets the hackle barb length will be typically to the point of the hook.

On fishing wingless wets - you are short changing yourself if you keep them dry...

    Cheers,

    Okay. That's an interesting concept.

    Something new to remember.

Have to commit that one to memory.
