    Default Poor Hip Boots

Because of usage factors on hip boots I buy cheapies every few years. I only buy those with built in foot. My last purchase turned to be a loser because the insole of the boot is so thin that when you step on even a small rock it feels like you are in bare feet.

Allen Company sells the boot under "Black River". Of course they are made in China.

I purchased some hippers from sportsman warehouse about 5 years ago. thick and heavy boots and have had to replace the straps twice but they are comfy to wade in. Jim

I generally buy a pair insole for two reasons. To give more cushion under foot and number two to take up some of the "slop" (extra space between the top of my foot and the inside of the boot). My foot doesn't move inside the bootfoot and fewer rubbed/wear spots on my feet.
