Playing around with smaller Carnage-style bodies (instructions here if you're interested - http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/s...onefly-2.0-SBS)
Tried some lighter iron on this fly, but I still think I prefer the DR 135. This one will be flush in the film (like the naturals), but it will float.

hook - Dai Riki 125 #14
thread - UTC 70 tan
abdomen - 1mm foam
underwing - Congo Hair honey mustard
wing - deer hair bleached

hot off the needle

poke a hole in it and slide on the hook; start thread, brush on a little Super Glue and slide in place

tie down foam tag end, trim and cover with thread

tie in a hank of CH; figure-8, sweep back/lock in place with thread wraps and trim tips even with butt of foam

clean, stack, measure (tips even with butt of foam) a clump of deer hair

trim to length, tie in, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

splay the deer hair (push down on the tie-in with your thumbnail) for a wider profile

Scott
