Thread: Sizing and Spacing

  1. #1

    Default Sizing and Spacing

    Hello again all!

I have a few questions I need some advise with. First let me give you my info, then ask the questions.

    Blank: Cabelas Stowaway 5 7'6" #4 wgt 5 piece

Guides: Pac bay SF Har Chrome guides and tip top. Sizes 4, 3, and 2 with Large Loop Tip Top.

Strippers: Fuji Concept SF guide Size 8

    Now for the questions!

    1. The manufacturer does not have a guide spacing chart and cannot give me an idea where to start with them. Any ideas what kind of spacing I should use?

    2. Any thoughts on the size 8 stripper? I have been told by Cabelas, that they use the size 8's on their factory rods.

    Thanks for the help all.

    Reg

    Panfisher,
May I ask your kindness in sharing that guide spacing calculator program with me also (to compare with the one recently posted via Dleo)? I've refinished a few rods in the past 2 years and have decided to put some more life back into them by redoing the guides. Thanks.
I can be reached at: qvo@optimavo.com

    Quin,

I tried that address but the E-mail man says: "relaying denied for <qvo@optimavo.com>". Not sure of the problem probably a typo somewhere. Any way just click on the send e-mail button above and send an e-mail to me - I will reply to that - probably Sunday late. I will be away from my computer for a few days.
