    Default Went to the Duck

Got up early like any other day, but I had this feeling to get into the river and see what I could come up with. God gave me a wonderful day to spend with him and I really enjoyed it. Got 7 trout and the rest of the 22 fish I hooked were bass, black perch and some gills. I took time out today to give thanks to the Healing Waters program and all their volunteers, Warren, Jack and litjoe and all the friends I have on FAOL for helping me learn about fly fishing and fly tying. I have truly been blessed.

    Todays fishing report pictures...LOL

Looks like you had a great outing from those pictures. Thanks for sharing. Could we tell me more on what a Black Perch is?
I did a Google and didn't find an answer. The only thing that run through me mind was a black crappie.

Thanks a bundle and please keep the pictures coming.

Thanks for the reply. I believe I caught some of those rascals when I lived in VA. I fished several different states during my stay in your country.

I think the term is used for either a rock bass or a warmouth.

The warmouth, usually pronounced "warm mouth" instead or "war mouth" in my area, is in the same genus as bluegill. The scientific name is Lepomis gulosus. The leading edge of the anal fin usually has three spines.

The rock bass, Ambloplites rupestris, usually has several more spines on the leading edge of the anal fin.

I used to catch Warmouth Bass in some of the rivers of Florida when I lived down there. Great fighters.
