    hook - Mustad 3906 #6
    thread - UTC 140 tan
    tail - partridge
    rib - opalescent mylar medium
    body - zelon dubbing tan
    wing - flashabou gold
    head/collar - deer hair spun/clipped

    Part 1

    mash barb; start thread, wrap back to point above barb




    measure some partridge (gap width past bend); tie in






    tie in rib




    dub body






    rib body




    tie in flashabou, fold back and tie down

    Part 2

    clean, stack, measure (tips to bend) a clump of deer hair; 2 soft loops and let it spin








    half hitch x 2, SHHAN; trim head, trim flashabou (even with tail)

    On closer inspection, first try was a bit stalky. Had a few folks warn me the mylar wing could wrap the shank so I tied it again with the tail about 2 eye widths shorter; proportions look better and wing wrap shouldn't be an issue.
