    Default Sedgehammer Balloon Caddis SBS



    Hot-butt version of Moser's Balloon from the right side of the pond.

    hook - Dai Riki 135 #12
    thread - UTC 70 tan
    butt - Uni-stretch fluoro green
    body - zelon dubbing tan
    underwing - Congo Hair white
    wing - deer hair
    indicator - 1mm foam yellow

    Part 1

    mash barb; start thread, wrap back to point above barb and tie in Uni-stretch (leave tag-end long out the back)




    wrap Uni halfway down the bend, then wrap butt up to point above barb; pull tag end over the butt and tie off








    dub body up to 80% mark






    taper foam strip (not quite gap width) and tie in facing forward over hook eye






    tie in CH, trim even with butt

    Part 2

    clean, stack, measure (a bit past the butt) a clump of deer hair; trim to length and tie in






    dub head, finish at wing base




    pull foam back, tie down




    whip finish, SHHAN, trim tag end of foam
