    Default Quigley Hackle Stacker Sally SBS




    hook - Dai Riki 320 #16
    thread - UTC 70 hopper yellow
    butt - Uni Stretch Chinese red
    abdomen - dubbing yellow
    wing - hen cream (Wonderwing style)
    post - 1mm foam
    hackle - ginger
    thorax - dubbing yellow
    antennae - wing fibers

    mash barb; start thread and wrap back to bend




    tie in Uni Stretch, leave tag extending out the back; take a few wraps, pull tag over the top and tie it off








    dub abdomen up to 60% mark




    prep hackle for wing




    tie in (leave wing a bit short); pull it to final length

    Part 2

    trim hackle stem, leave a few fibers for antennae; trim wing butt






    tie in foam strip; tie in hackle






    wrap hackle (thorax length), tie off at base




    dub thorax




    stroke hackle fibers back, pull forward over top of thorax; tie down






    trim post, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

    Very slick pattern. Where did you find this one, Scott? Never heard of it before, and Bob was a local tier in my neck of the woods.

    I saw it over on Kelly Galloup's Slide Inn site. Did you ever get to fish with Mr. Quigley? I was very sad to hear of his passing; guess it's been almost 2 years now.

    Never had the privilege of fishing with Bob, but was fortunate enough to take a tying class with him a once few years ago. Excellent tier and instructor, as you might imagine.
