Fishing for sunfish was slow tonight until I put on a size 10 olive wooly bugger. I started getting strikes on almost every cast. Then I realized that it made sense since I earlier identified as a damselfly nymph shuck the bit of debris I had cleared from my leader knot though I only put it together in retrospect once the fish started hitting regularly. After a dozen fish the hackle on my fly tore and the strikes stopped. I bet everyone knows what I tied up when I got home!
