Church ended late, so I was on the canal around 12:30. It was hot. I knew I wasn't gonna catch anything. It was windy, so I had brought the fiberglass 5wt.

A gar swims by, I cast and it eats. Sweet!



More gar are around, so this is where the day's going to take me.

Unfortunately, these guys were pesky and got to the fly first:

The wind kicks up, so I move to a spot where it's at my back. It's a spillway filled with more gar. I notice some flashes beneath them. Tilapia!


It was hot. My neck is the color of a tomato. Surprisingly, though, it was a very productive couple of hours! (Angler Action log screen capture)
