Another lowrider. Original called for dun calftail wing, of which my supply is currently out of (I hope my 7th grade English teacher read that - stick it, Mrs. Dunkel!); subbed Congo Hair.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #8
thread - UTC 140 tan
shuck - Congo Hair gold
body - dubbing antique gold rabbit
rib - Krystal Flash rootbeer
wing - Congo Hair dark grey
legs - medium rubber tan
head - elk hair
imdicator - foam orange

Part 1

mash barb, wrap front of shank with thread




clean, stack, measure (shank length) a good hunk of hair




trim to length, a couple soft loops and then pull firmly, letting the hair spin around the shank








trim the butts; tie in shuck and rib






dub thread, dub body up to elk butts

Part 2

rib body, tie off; trim shuck




tie in CH wing, trim butts






push the head hair back over the fly





gather with 2 soft loops (check head width; adjust and re-wrap if needed) then tighten








add legs and indicator

whip finish, SHHAN, trim out the bottom




trim legs and wing
