It is a rare day at home that I do not tie at least a few flies. I normally tie at least a dozen flies at a time when not tying presentation stuff. I end up with a lot of flies in the course of a year. I even tied 300 of the flies I needed. I know they are somewhere, sorting out the "somewhere" is tough!

Tying is one of the things I really enjoy, no matter where

eta:Light leaders, heavy fish, heavier unintended fish, wind, and rookie casters mean I go through a ton of these flies every time I fish. I also do not hesitate to give flies to folks struggling to catch fish and show them how to do it. Was sad yesterday when I did not have the flies to give to a mother and son from Texas trying to catch fish.

I did spend a few minutes with the son to show him how to haul. In very short order we could hear him talking to himself, amazed at how far he can now cast. I did give them a fly apiece and they both ended up catching fish on them. But that is why I need so many every year.
