    Simplicity made beautiful. I can't get over how tiny you are able to get the head on your flies, especially the soft hackles. Once again, a very pretty pattern that looks like it will really catch fish. Thanks for sharing.

    Jim, you are right. Whenever people ask about heads, I point them at Hans' videos of flies like this. Saying, "Learn to make heads like this then you can make any kind of head you like."

    I love these simple flies like this. What Hans gives us here is mastery of technique to achieve them. Its just the fact that people want big shiny heads on their flies that keeps me from tying all my flies like that (or at least trying to). Small heads like that don't sell, I have no idea why not.
